Land Conservancy Preserves

Most of these preserves are open to the public and have trails.

Appleton Preserve - 22.98 acres of riparian habitat along La Canada Rd.

Bonsall Preserve - 27.36 acres of largely inaccessible wetlands at NW corner of Mission & Hwy 76

Dinwiddie Preserve - 14.5 acres across from Palomares House on S. Stagecoach Ln.

Engel Family Preserve - 10.37 acres off Sumac Rd.
A short trail to benches and sweeping views to east.
 
Los Jilgueros Preserve - 43.5 acres on S. Mission Rd N of High School with over 2 miles of looping, gentle trails.

Karen Tucker Preserve at Heller's Bend -
48.55 acres at the south end of Heller's Bend Rd, just off S. Mission. A 1/2 mile steep paved trail through riparian area and live oak forest up to sweeping views to east. Dirt trail continues through the spectacular coastal sage habitat.

Monserate Mountain Preserve - 340 acres just east of I-15. The 1.5-mile trail to the top offers views from the ocean to the mountains.

Palomares House and Park - 1.57 acres with historic farmhouse, gardens, memorial tile walkway and wildlife sculptures.

Rock Mountain Preserve - 78 acres on Sandia Creek Rd. ~1.5mi N of Santa Margarita River.  1.5-mile looping trail to Bryant Creek and views.

Fallbrook Trails Council

The Santa Margarita River Trail is one of the most beautiful riparian areas and the last continuously flowing river in southern California. The trails wind past deep pools and rushing waters over large boulders. Great for bird watchers and bikers, hikers and equestrians. Share the path and enjoy this gorgeous wild place.

Live Oak Park has long been the cornerstone of Fallbrook. First inhabited by Native Americans, the park is an oak tree forest that begs for visitors to stay and enjoy its beauty. The park is ideal for picnicking, strolling, and sharing time with family and friends. The park is also home to woodpeckers, hawks, and songbirds that swoop between the ancient oaks.

A grass-roots, all-volunteer group of dog owners decided Fallbrook needed a dog park. We circulated a petition, and now have our Dog Park!

The Fallbrook Tennis Club offers tennis at all levels, from beginner to advanced competition levels. There are year-round leagues for men and women, from C to A levels. Most leagues play during the day with some playing in the evening, notably team tennis and the working ladies league. Men's leagues usually play on the weekends.
 
The Club offers various social activities, such as monthly socials, exchanges with other clubs, monthly birthday celebrations and special theme events such as the Turkey Tournament, Calcutta, Luck of the Irish, etc.
 
Ladies Days are Tuesday and Thursday mornings and Men's Days, Wednesday and Saturday mornings with reserved courts for the groups.
 
Facilities
The Fallbrook Tennis Club has ten outdoor courts, of which six are lighted. All courts are grouped for viewing. The Facility is available for private parties and events for nominal fees.

Our Pro Shop has the latest in tennis fashion apparel, along with the newest racquets at very competitive prices, accessories, and racquet stringing on-premises.

   The Fallbrook area has two public golf courses, one private golf course, and one semi-private golf course.
The four full golf courses are all sanctioned by the USGA and the SCGA and include practice facilities among their amenities.

Fallbrook Community Center

Located between the Community Center and La Paloma school is a park that features restrooms, two lighted sand volleyball courts, covered picnic pavilion, grass play area, barbeques, extra parking spaces, and tailored landscaping. A volunteer live-in park host is on-site to provide maintenance and security for the facility.

We can provide seating for up to 240 guests in our auditorium. The building is fully air-conditioned, and the use of tables and chairs are included in the rental fee. Hire your caterer or self-cater your event using the full commercial kitchen which includes refrigerator, freezer, ovens, stoves, and steam tables. For information regarding Instructional classes, room rentals, childcare, Live Oak Park group picnic reservations, events or trips and tours, call 760-728-1671.

Please be prepared to show your valid drivers license, registration and insurance card to base police upon arriving at Camp Pendleton. If you have no base privileges, please visit the Visitor Center with your sponsor.

WHERE IS THE VISITOR CENTER?
The Camp Pendleton Visitor Center is located in Bldg. 20255T, adjacent to the Main Gate near Interstate 5. The Center is intended to process visitors who have been pre-sponsored by base personnel.  Those visitors who have not been pre-sponsored should expect long delays or should arrange to have their sponsor meet them at the gate.
